ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Ottawa have launched “Desafía Canadá”, a two-week immersion programme aimed at 10 Spanish startups and scaleups with artificial intelligence solutions in the commercialisation phase and international experience. AiMA Beyond Ai is one of the selected companies.
The goal of this programme is to facilitate the integration of these companies into the technological ecosystems of Montreal and Toronto, offering business opportunities, networking, and access to investors. Canada is a leader in AI publications and patents and is home to 10% of the top researchers in this field.
The project includes a visit on March 26th to the CIX event, supported by Elevante, in Toronto. The CIX Summit will feature the largest gathering of executives from emerging companies and capital providers from various countries.
In the past few weeks, AiMA Beyond AI and the other startups have participated in a bootcamp ahead of this event, with executive training led by experts; connections with research and innovation ecosystems; meetings, networking, and strategic partnerships with key players in the Canadian ecosystem, including investors and venture capital; mentoring and support to design and execute the most suitable market strategy; integration into the Desafía Community; and presentations and pitching sessions in front of innovation investors from corporations and key industry players in Canada.
Currently, Canada is a leader in the Artificial Intelligence sector, with an investment of 3 billion dollars in 2021. Additionally, the country has an ethical approach to AI development, making it a secure and competitive environment for innovation and research. The programme will help position these companies within the North American market, which is expected to reach 18.5 billion dollars by 2030.
